We're getting Christmassy!
Advent is here! I love the run up to Christmas, even if it does make me a bit bonkers. I really wanted to be ready for christmas by now so I could enjoy Advent all the more. But in all honestly, despite a bit of panic buying this morning, I don’t feel like I’m too far off now. And things are feeling Christmasy in our house already thanks to the arrival of our Advent Boxes.
I got organised with these Advent Boxes after the Christmas Party on the Mums’ Days Facebook Page back at the beginning of November. The main reason I wanted to do it because I love the idea of a Christmas Eve box but I wanted 4 more weeks to enjoy the contents! But this could work equally as well for your Christmas Eve box,
So here’s what I put in the boxes, 1 for each of us…
- Christmas PJs (all from F&F)
- Socks (all from F&F, except Reuben’s which are a pair he got last Christmas!)
- Stickers for kids / mugs for adults (all from Paperchase, as are the Christmas bags)
I didn’t think Mike would LOVE his gift, but I still thought it was funny…
And, I’d say Mike was pleasantly surprised that I’d gone to the effort!
I just love this tattooed Santa mug from Paperchase!
I couldn’t resist getting myself a few cosy Christmassy goodies, and for the first time ever I got myself a onesie too! Sexy it is not. But cosy? All the way!
Because Gabby isn’t with us during the week (and I couldn’t wait any longer), I gave our boxes out on Friday evening and we snuggled up watching Elf. What a classic!
We’ll be putting the decorations up on Sunday and we’ve got our first Christmas Theatre trip on Saturday, Up and Out Christmas Sprout at the Northern Stage. I just need to do some wrapping and sorting out who’s having what and what’s missing, and I’ll be 1000 times more organised than last year! Hurrah!
I bet I’ll still be wrapping on Christmas eve though…why break the habit of a lifetime?!
Have you ever given gifts at the start of Advent? And how organised are you feeling?!
I’d love to hear how you’re getting on in the comments below…or come and join the conversation over on the Mums’ Days Facebook page. Now, I’m off to eat a mince pie!
