Cheap Maternity Clothes

Cheap Maternity Clothes

At a time when we are redoing the whole house and having a baby, I'm having to think creatively about how the hell to dress myself. It's getting to be a bit of chore and can result in tantrums and tears. Most recently I had a party to go to and it was sunny so I didn't want to wear tights...The dress I had chosen to wear was met with undisguised horror from Mike ("Why on earth did you buy that?").

Despite having nothing to wear, we can't afford to be spending loads on buying things that'll only last me a few more months (I'm assured the weight will "just fall off" so I'm going with that) so I'm on the hunt for cheap maternity clothes and what's cheaper than the clothes you already have? Here I am today, looking tired and wearing a hounds tooth stretchy pencil skirt pulled up over

Jean Genie – Maternity clothes at 26 weeks pregnant

On Wednesday I caught myself in the lift mirror and this is what I saw. Fluffy hair, no make up, confusing clothing. All in all a bit of a frump.

Comfy but it's not work-wear by any stretch. I panicked but then you would have as this is what had happened before the above mishap...

These are sexy times ladies! What I've realised this week is that I have more clothes than you can shake a stick at (especially thanks to Ania for giving me lots of maternity things!) so I can hardly shut my drawers and yet I've no idea what to actually put on! This is mainly due to the fact that I have no idea what still fits and can be classed as maternity clothes. So, in order to tackle this I have tried on everything in my teeshirt/jumper draw to get rid of the too small (there were

A fashionable (and sexy) bump – 35 rules from ‘Bump it Up’

A few days ago I had this weird and slightly distressing dream that a gorgeous, slim woman was stood naked in front of Mike, causing me to have a massive argument with this person. Ha! How silly, I know.

However, it seems I can predict the future as that same thing virtually happened today - the person in question wasn't naked but she didn't have much on and I was seriously pissed off that she would dress in such a way in front of MY husband! Particularly given the fact that I feel like a whale. A pregnant whale. A green, pregnant whale. It's seems jealously is one of my pregnancy symptoms as I'm feeling fiercely protective over Mike!

With that in mind, it is now my mission to have a sexy pregnancy (not so much for Mike's sake, he does NOT need any more encouragement! But for my own sake and feelings of

Make-do Maternity Clothes

For the last week or so I've really started to show so some things have stopped fitting (remember these trousers I bought 2 weeks ago...yeah, they don't fit anymore!) but my maternity clothes are still too big so I'm in no-mans-land!

Here's a round up of my last week's 'make-do maternity clothes', taken in various lifts because I forget to take a photo at home in the morning and I look like I've been dragged through a hedge backwards by the time I get home. It's rather dress heavy, so I'm going to look for some skinny jeans on return from holiday (I've spotted a few good 'uns on ASOS for when I get my first pay cheque!).

My top 6 holiday maternity clothes

Holiday special! We're off on Friday and my bump has popped, which means my clothes selection is suddenly rather limited. Fortunately, my lovely friend Tamsin has leant me some maternity clothes to wear, but I couldn't resist having a little look to see what's on offer at the moment...here's my top 6 but bear in mind that the weather in Turkey at the moment is about 23 degrees so not sweltering!

1. Red Swan Print Top - Next, £15 (also in white)

2. Navy Floral Maxi Dress - Next, £28

3. Cream Butterfly Dress - New Look, £27.99

4. Blue Tie Knot Dress - Isabella Oliver , £105 (if you're feeling extravagant - I'm not!)

5. Lace Dress - ASOS, £36 (in sale)

6. Denim Shorts - Next, £25

And something I won't be getting - the novelty preggo t-shirt!

Holidays are coming, holidays are coming! 5 gorgeous Maternity Swimwear

The last week or so has been C.R.A.P. With various things going wrong and knocking me off kilter, I'm a bit sick of it all. To take my mind off it, I'm going to concentrate on nice things, for example, I'm off in my hols in a couple of weeks and I really can't wait! Although my bump is pretty lame, I've tried a few different bikinis on and they look awful! Love handle overhang, need I say more. I've already started to address the love handle issue with this post earlier in the month but, even so, I'm going down the maternity swimwear route in the hope that one of these babies make me look like I'm having a baby (and not like I've eaten one).

1. Spot Swimsuit - Mamas and Papas, £25

Not keen on the red strings but in general it's a nice shape and you can't beat dots.

2.

Don’t stop me now, boobs – maternity clothes

You're probably sick of hearing about my boobs, but they are literally doing my head in! Whenever I go out to try and find a bra that fits I come home with a headache that lasts at least 24 hours and now they are beginning to impact on my ability to do exercise. I had to hold my boobs today every time I wanted to jump (thankfully I was at home) so that particular sports bra is destined for the ever growing post-preggo bag of clothes. The other sports bra I have is causing serious neck ache because the straps are too close together, meaning my neck has to hold up the 2 stone or whatever each of my boobs now weigh. That leaves me with one measly bra that is teetering on the edge of being too small.

Once again I'm on the maternity clothes hunt! Advice doesn't seem to

Mission revisited – 14 weeks pregnant

I am conscious that it's getting on for the middle of February and I'm now 14 weeks pregnant. It's nearly a month since I wrote my mission and time to revisit it to see how I'm getting on (before I start pretending I never wrote it)...

My top priority was to concentrate on being healthy and happy. I think I'm doing pretty well on this (apart from chocolate gate at the weekend), which is probably due to the life of luxury and unemployment I'm currently enjoying.

I'm exercising for at least 30 minutes about 5 or 6 days a week;

I am doing something I like most days, although I'm so shit at actually sitting down to do the pampering things like paint my nails - I've been meaning to do my fingers for the past couple of nights but have ended up doing my blog late. And, my toe nails? I'm too ashamed

Pregnancy Bras – a review Babes with Babies

I have discussed in detail my issue with pregnancy bras, but I have recently had a pleasant surprise so I thought I'd share my thoughts with you so you too can benefit!

4.5 out of 5

Arrival time - faster than fast (I booked it Tuesday lunchtime and it came the next day) and that was the cheapest option- perhaps if I'd paid the most expensive option, it would have been couriered by a white dove and arrived within the hour.

Comfort - lush

Practicality - unfortunately this is where this bra falls down (or out in my case). Clearly babes with babies do not have boobs larger than a C. Ridiculous, I know. So even the large does not provide enough support for the larger bosom. The result is that when I'm sleeping (on my side as we've been instructed) a boob regularly falls out.

To be honest though, I couldn't give a shit!
