I had planned this on being a generic, all round gift-guide of a few of my favourite things for all the family. However, as I was putting the collage together I figured it might be more palatable if I did it in stages! So today, I bring you a Christmas Gift Guide for Her… the inspiration behind this is basically a round up of some of my favourite things I bought last year that I would love to be given or given to my kids/husband! So, the latter post will follow next week.
Christmas Gift Guide for her
1. Aromatherapy Associates.
2014 was the year I fell in love with this amazing brand. I have bought products for myself (the invigorating shower oil – ideal after a bad night with a baby – and the relax bath oil), my best friend (a gift box of goodies) and, thanks to my amazing friend Vicki who introduced me, I’m now a friend so they send me the odd thing to try out (I LOVE MY JOB!). The products smell divine and you literally can’t go wrong if you’re still looking for that special something for a friend or your mum. I would highly recommend buying one of these Christmas sets (even if you end up keeping it!) and there’s something for every budget (psst, there’s also 20% off everything this weekend!! I’m stocking up).
2. Note Cards or Note Paper
One of the best things I got last year was a super cute box of blank cards from paperchase (who do a fab selection), but I also love this gorgeous set from the brand new A Beautiful Mess shop. If you haven’t had chance go have a look around the new store, there is a host of original and fabulous things to buy for the stationary fan in your life!
3. Meaningful Beauty Wrinkle Smoothing Capsules
Although no one will thank you for anything with ‘wrinkle’ in the title, the Meaningful Beauty Range, which I was introduced to in my October Birch Box, is made by a French anti-aging uber boffin and Cindy Crawford!! So, as one of my favourite beauty products this year (along with the Aromatherapy Associates entire range!), I urge you to stick with me on this one. It’s now part of my make up ritual for important events (so pre-awards, meeting Myleene and meeting Jools!)! Each little capsule has enough for one covering, and when you apply it feels a little like a primer but more moisturising. It basically makes your skin feel amazing (and fills in a few of those lines…well I’ll be 32 in 2015. This stuff is getting real!). If that’s not a goer and you think your mother-in-law would not thank you, I’ve also been sent the Glowing Serum which is equally gorgeous, and can be backed up by my best mate who loves it too. A little goes a long way and you basically use it post-cleanse and pre-moisturiser and makeup in the morning to give that dewy glow. You can also use it during the day as a little pick me up, and it really does! If it’s good enough for a super model… that’s all I’m saying!
4. Meal Planner
Anyone who partakes in #TheList on a Friday will know I’m a huge fan of the note book/list/things that make me feel more organised than I am products. Hands down my favourite of these products that make me feel more organised was a meal planner and shopping list pad I bought from Paperchase. It’s got a huge magnet so you can stick it to your fridge or, if like us your fridge is hiding in a cupboard, it’s cute enough to just have ‘out’! I love it and still use it every week a year later. That is seriously saying something as I’m terrible for moving on to the next cute piece of stationary. Watch out family…there’s a few of these heading your way!
5. Muji Cape Shawl
I LOVE THIS SHAWL. I bought it a few weeks ago and I’ve hardly taken it off. At first I thought Mike would think I looked like a nob in it as he’s not a fan of hats or scarves (winter is fun here!) but to quote him directly, he said “you look cool”. Yup! It’s Japanese though, right? So it’s bound to be cool. Anyway, I digress. So, I’ve been wearing it around the house religiously as a cape/blanket, but I’ve also been wearing it as a scarf with a chunky cardi when we go out too. It’s so versatile, I just can’t imagine your loved ones wouldn’t love it too!
That’s my 5 big recommendations, I have more, but those my favs!
