time flies when you're being a mum

Time for Mum tagged with 'all about you'

if you’re anything like me, you find it difficult to even find time to have a wash, there’s always something more pressing. Here I’m hoping to encourage myself and you to put yourself first a bit more!

13 Jan, 2015

It’s All About You’s first birthday! As a Birthday Special and to celebrate Zaz is running a competition over on her blog for the next 4 weeks. This week the winner will receive £20 voucher for TKMax! So head on over there, y’all.

This week Reuben and I have embarked on our 2015 challenge – to visit all 45 (or more!) of the Northumberland Castles and we took our first trip on to Mitford Castle on Friday. Not strictly “all about me” but it’s testing my planning skillzzzz to the max and seeing heritage sites makes you happy (it’s true). Also as much as the project is about spending better quality time with Reuben, I’m also hoping to make a few new friends as I’m sharing the dates for visits via my Facebook page and this blog!

All About You Birthday Special

My featured bloggers from last week are:

5 Ideas for a Husband and Wife Date Night – I love date nights and so can definitely get where Becki from 3 Princesses and a Dude is coming from with this resolution. Some lovely ideas!

Trying to be Thrifty – I love the sentiment behind Elfa’s post, I am regularly as frugal as her anecdote (genuinely thinking I am saving money!!). So I’m all for a bit of penny pinching this month year.

On to this week…

I remember All About You starting a year ago and it has a really special place in my heart. It was the first linky I had ever joined in with, and here I am now, hosting with my gorgeous friend Zaz from Mama and More! Unfortunately, I’ve not been able to put in as much time and effort as I had hoped and so this will be my last week hosting for the time being. Life, moving house and my sleep-deprived brain capacity all seem to be getting in the way!

So with a heavy heart I ask one last time to tell us All About You… (more…)

06 Jan, 2015

I’ve said it before but hey, we’re still in the first week of January so…Happy New Year to my All About You friends!

I love New Years and have been very busy with my New Years Resolution (just the one!) and organising my motivation to lose weight (yes it’s a thing you can organise!). I anticipate that you have been busy with this too so I recon Zaz and I will have a fantastic set of posts this week full of your resolutions, goals and dreams for 2015. Can’t wait!!

All About You 2015

But before we get to your posts, the last All About You of 2014 was awesome, our most popular to date with 85 fabulous link ups. My featured posts are:

Lauryn Cakes’ Tips for looking great in photos – such a great set of tips for us novices, especially if you’re planning on doing more style posts this year (might motivate me to sort out my wardrobe once and for all!!).

And, I loved Spidermummy’s post on re-gifting –  saving the planet one unwanted gift at a time!

Now over to 2015…can we get to 100 links?!

All About Christmas

16 Dec, 2014

It’s All About You time! What’s been tickling your festive fancy this week? We need to hear aaaaaall about it as this is the LAST ALL ABOUT YOU before Christmas and in fact the LAST until 2015!!

We’ve already had TWO family Christmas get togethers the most recent being last weekend. As lovely as all this is (but not for my waistline) it seems as if all this early celebrating has set me off to thinking about my resolutions earlier than usual! I was so steadfast in documenting my resolutions that I can’t help but think about what worked and what didn’t, so I’ve been quite reflective of late and, of course, think of self improvement all the while!

And, all that before I even realised this was the last All About You, now I’m really feeling reflective!

All About You is now live!

In the meantime, I’m linking up a post I wrote on holiday last December,  the importance of a door, when I had no internet connection and loads of time on my hands (!) and a post about a career highlight from 2014, interviewing Jools Oliver about her Little Bird Mothercare Collection! (more…)

09 Dec, 2014

Last week was a record breaking week for All About You with 80 links!! Thank you everyone for continuing to link up to this fabulous and important Linky. Zaz and I love reading your posts xxx This week I’ve been laughing and crying and almost inspired to finally get crafty (head over to the All About You pinterest board to see what I mean!) but after a tough decision I have chosen the following posts to feature this week:

Sacrificing my business for my babies

I can be a prize fanny at times, getting lost in a bubble of self-importance, and this puts it all into perspective. This post is about real life and real problems and I really admire Gym Bunny Mummy for making such a hard decision – but I hope you can still carve some time for you, as we want to hear more from you and your life and your loves xxx

Style Scenario | Office Holiday Party

On a lighter note, what would you wear if you were going to your office party. I love this idea and I love what Tilden came up with too. I’m guessing she doesn’t work with men in their 50s like I used to?!

Introducing our Co-host on All About You this week

This week Zaz, from Mama and More, and I are joined by our lovely friend Katie from Pouting in Heels. When I get better at writing I want to be just like Katie, head on over for a healthy dose of inspiration and fabulousness!

All About You

This week I’m still working on my 12 days of detox diet and I’ve been thinking about if I need to curb my TV binging…Do I have a TV addiction?!

Now over to you…

25 Nov, 2014

Another fabulous week on AllAboutYou! Thank you to everyone who is linking up and making this community what it is. My featured posts are…

Mummy Tries and her Book Cover Reveal – what a fabulous achievement Renee, so inspiring!

and

Mrsavengangel and her Mummy Karma – made me laugh but, of course, Lisa is absolutely right. Watch out mean mummies!!

All About…Rituals

This week, after listening to this really inspiring podcast, I’ve been thinking about changing my rituals…what is it that I do on a daily basis that stops me achieving what I want? What can I do on a daily basis that will ensure I do achieve my goals?! It’s a learning curve, but it starts by trying to focus on the things I’m grateful for, like time with my family which is my linked up post this week (Sykes Cottages…meet Pickle Cottage). This brings with it a sense of gratitude and as Tony Robins says in the podcast, it’s hard to be sad, depressed, defeated, etc. when you are feeling overcome with gratitude. And, he’s right! If you can have a listen, I would really recommend it.

Now to add in a few positive rituals…! I think my schedule might need a tweak! (more…)
