Halfterm ideas for a trip into Newcastle
On Saturday I had the best day with my 3 favourite little ladies! My Step-daughter Gabriella, and my nieces, Millie and Olivia. We’d had it planned since Christmas that the girls would have £15 each to spend in Claires and my sister-in-law, Steph, and I would take them for a day out with food. Happily Mantra Newcastle’s finest Thai restaurant, invited the girls to come and try their new Kids’ selection.
We arrived in the midst of a hail storm but soon warmed up in the comfortable luxury of Mantra. It’s a big place but it certainly feels cosy.
The General Manager of Mantra Newcastle, Sam, had already picked out a selection for the girls to try, so all they had to do was pick the most expensive drink on the mocktail menu!
Steph and I picked from the lunch time menu and very soon after the girls’ were tucking into a veritable feast.
They had Sweet and Sour Chicken, cooked in the lightest tempura batter – this was a huge hit with them.
Juicy Chicken and chips
And, Pork with udon noodles (my personal favourite!)
They also had two types of Rice and Prawn Crackers.
They tried everything and really enjoyed it – even Millie, who doesn’t like eggs, tried and loved the Egg Fried Rice!
Meanwhile, Steph and I got stuck into our mains.
I went for a Thai Green Curry with a side salad…
and Steph had the Coconut Rice with Chicken. Both were utterly delicious!
The girls finished off their meal with a bite of ice cream (although they were probably a bit full for it!) and Steph and I had a really good coffee down in the foyer where we pondered how we could take our new friend home!
It was an absolutely lovely way to spend our day out with the girls. They loved the food and I know that Reuben would have been all over that chicken and chips, meaning I could relax and enjoy my delicious meal! We’ll definitely be back.
Have you ever been to Mantra Newcastle?
I’d love to hear about it in the comments below or come and join the conversation on the Mums’ Days Facebook Page!
This is the second review I have read about Mantra, it looks and sounds amazing. I must admit I would never have thought about taking children before reading this. My eldest would love it here as she loves trying new foods and adores Thai food xx
I’ve never been but I know me and my partner would love it there! Me and my partner visit Thai restaurants very often as we love the food!
