Maternity clothes - retrofitting your existing clothes

I recently bought myself some new trousers and I did something very naughty…I bought trousers that were already too small! I’ve found that the maternity clothes I have bought so far are just that wee bit frumpy so when these trousers looked good on my bum, I didn’t want them any bigger.

To make them fit around the belly, what I’ve done is a little trick that my friend, Alex’s, sister-in-law taught her, that is to use an elastic band:

  1. Hoop one end of the elastic band over the button;
  2. Feed the band through the button hole; and,
  3. Then hoop the other end of the band over the button again!

You just need to wear a longer top. Ha!

So that’s what I’ve done with these babies today…granted they aren’t the most comfy things to sit in and you can’t need the loo in a hurry but they look good and I don’t feel too fat and frumpy!
