It’s the end of May and the start of the summer, which can only mean one thing… Swimwear season! We have our summer holiday booked and I want to be feeling and looking fit not flabby in one of these babies from Protest!

I had a feeling I wasn’t the only one who thinking about this with an element of trepidation and I was right. The response to my question about it on the Mums’ Days Facebook Page was unanimous: starting a Mums’ Days Fit Club is a good idea!
The Dawn of #MDFitClub
Starting on the 1st June I will be posting weekly articles about all things health and fitness from eating plans to exercise (squats and lunges have been suggested I’m afraid), and motivation to motherhood (aka finding time to exercise and eat right!).
My aim is for us to work together to feel fit in every sense of the word (in the UK fit also means sexy!)…
I want us to be feeling good from the inside out; confident and beach ready in body and mind!
Often getting out, doing some exercise, eating a few more veg and getting some more sleep (aka looking after yourself a bit better) is all it takes to get that extra confidence to feel beach ready! Goodness knows our bodies have changed after having a baby but that doesn’t mean we shouldn’t flaunt our new, amazing bodies. If you feel good, you look good! Stretch marks and all!
Protest clothing
And the icing on the cake is that Protest have invited me to be their brand ambassador as I work towards my goal of being beach ready for our family holiday in August. They have a fabulous range of street and sports wear and as I mentioned previously, some rather lovely bikinis too.
Click here to have a look at the Protest Women’s clothing range. It’s actually a great place to get some motivation – pick out your bikini for the summer to get your eyes on the prize!
They will be providing lots of prizes throughout the summer season, including the #MDFitClub launch post competition, on 1st June, and prizes for those who take part in the #MDFitClub Facebook Launch Party on Wednesday 3rd June from 8 to 9pm over on the Mums’ Days Facebook Page!
Welcome Haul
To welcome me into the fold, I got a little goodie bag from Protest last week just before I left for Japan. I loved the lot so I got Mike to take a few snaps for me…unfortunately it was chucking it down so we had to make do with photos indoors which really don’t do these pieces justice!
Inside the goodie bag I was kindly given:
1) The Luton running jacket
2) The Bluet singlet top – I love this sexy little number! With a sneaky bit of skin on show but a baggy over layer this top feels sporty but still able to hide any lumpy bits!
3) sports pants (similar)… and breath in! I’m particularly impressed with these sports pants, they are really comfy and supportive around the old mummy tummy.
4) And the Castley 15 packable rain jacket (which is just perfect for this rainy weather we’ve been having!)
5) I also got a skipping rope, which Archie loved to play with, and some water bottles!
The sizes I have here are a medium and they fit me perfectly (I’m currently a 10 to 12), and I’ve brought them with me to Japan so I can still do some exercise while I’m here. I walked my brother, Josh, to work yesterday, which was over an hour of walking there and back and Japan is HOT right now. This outfit was perfect for a power walk in the heat.
So, what do you think? Do you fancy joining the Mums’ Days Fit Club? Don’t forget to check back in on Monday for the first instalment and your chance to win some Protest prizes to help you reach your goals!
Do leave your comments below as I’d love to hear what your summer goals are and what you find the hardest/biggest obstacle to reaching your goal – hopefully we can help each other!
To find out more about Protest, you can follow them in all these places…Facebook, Twitter, Pinterest, Youtube, Instagram and Instagram for women!
I think this sounds like a fab idea! I have a similar fitness goal and I’m also trying to lose a stone! I definitely find it hard going with two little ones, school runs, husband’s work schedule, etc…time is my obstacle.
Also, it is great to see Protest as I think they have a fantastic range of sports wear, not sure about the bikinis quite yet! 😉 xx

You look amazing already!this is a great idea…I am not looking to loose weight but would love to be fitter. Look forward to reading tips on juggling exercise with family life. Whenever I attempt some yoga Leo just climbs all over me! xx
Haha, yes, I think Yoga requires a certain amount of Zen, so being a climbing frame perhaps doesn’t work?! OK awesome!! That’s good to know what you’re after! 🙂 xx

Oooh I feel so excited by this! We’re going to disneyland paris at the beginning of July, I know it will be warm and I’m going to want to wear shorts and I just don’t have the figure for it at the moment 🙁 My biggest problem is evening snacking. I’m feeling inspired by your post thought so ill definitely be checking back on Monday x #thelist
Such a great idea, can’t wait for the first instalment. I’m just starting to exercise again to loose my baby weight.
What a great idea! I’m definitely in! Congrats on your brand ambassador position, their clothes look great on you! #TheList
Looking good lovely – and sounds like great fun, will be back monday to find out more – although with a holiday less than a week away I could be a lost cause! :0 #thelist
You look amazing already! That tum!! I definitely want to join in I have about 3 stone I want to shift – it’s uni weight more than baby weight! xx
Looking forward to following this and hopefully joining in. You look amazing in those pictures already though #thelist xx
You look fab already! Love that jacket…and the top…and the leggings AND they all match! *off to browse internet now for these* #thelist
Great plans!!! I have some baby weight I need to lose this summer! 🙂 Time to get working!
Fab idea! I have my wedding in August to try to get ready for, I started with the goal of a stone but so far have dropped only 3 pounds. I am not huge at 9st 3 but I was always 8 and a half stone so that is what I am used to and comfortable with. Time seems to be a big issue and by the time I get the boys to bed the sofa is just too inviting. Would be great to have the fit club as a support network.
What a great idea, I wish I had some motivation – so if anyone has any going spare! Hehe. Going to be interesting to follow over the summer
This is such an inspiring post! I’m so needing the motivation to get out and run… baby being awake in the night just means I’m worn out most days. But I look forward to following your posts on this! A great idea! What I like most is that it’s real – for real mums! #TheList
You look amazing and I have major tummy envy, those work out clothes are fab too. I think this is a great idea as so many Mums in particular struggle with their self image after having a baby. I am really looking forward to reading your posts and am debating getting back into jogging myself *gulp*.
What fab looking kit. Love it. Well done for drumming up some fitness motivation, it really helps. You look amazing already!
I love the baggy top and this sounds like a fab idea #thelist
I really need to tone up everywhere. I am a size 12 and i wobble lol! I am limited on exercise until i see my physiotherapist because of my dodgy back, so i am hoping that he can advise me on the right sort of exercise i can do to tone up. #thelist
