I have recently been pinning a board called Valentine crafts and foods for kids over on pinterest. There are some absolutely wonderful ideas! I know Gabriella would love to do some valentine crafts so I am hoping to have her cousins for a sleepover next weekend to try out…

All that pinning has reminded me about the last time I did valentine crafts with the kids. It was 2 years ago, I was pregnant, and clearly felt the need to be crafty. This hasn’t happened since so it must have been quite the urge OR I am actually a romantic at heart!

For Valentine’s 2 years ago, I got Gabriella and my nieces together and we had a lovely afternoon being crafty. I thought this was a good excuse to feel nostalgic, marvel at how much they have grown and share some of the things we got up again…

I gave them each a rose from their secret admirer, then we got on with some crafts: cards (to me from my ‘sec-rita mira’); hearts with fingers for legs; and, lollipop hearts with faces!

Then we did some heart-shaped rice krispie cake decorating, which my sister-in-law enjoyed more than the girls…

And ended with a romantic tea party with heart sandwiches and heart pepperoni pizza! Plus the obligatory Love Hearts and Jammie Dodgers.
