Mums' Days Reviewers - Becca
Hands up who’s NY’s resolution is to get in shape?! Yeah, me too! Well, help is at hand. The Mums’ Days Reviewers have been busy at work reviewing products that may be able to help with this resolution and help you decide where to spend your hard earned cash! Today’s review comes from Becca (who also blogs at Mummy, Daddy, Mia) who has done a 2 week trial of the Exante Diet Plan.
Here’s what she made of it…
Exante Diet Plan Review
Like many mums I have become more interested in diet plans and weight control as Mia gets older and I slowly begin to claw my ‘identity’ back!
I’m not someone who has ever dieted as I love food and cooking but when the opportunity to try out Exante’s meal replacement diet plan came along, I was intrigued to see how it would go.
The Exante plan that I decided on was the Simple Solution Plan where you can eat 3×200 calorie sachets a day and add a 600 calorie low-carb dinner. Each 3 sachets give you 100% of the RDA of vitamin and minerals.
When the Exante box arrived and I opened it up, it was suddenly a scary prospect that this was my food for the next 2 weeks! However I soon got over this initial panic and looked at it as a challenge for myself and I was genuinely interested. The plan takes away any meal planning and the meals are ready in around 5 minutes so they are great for someone working and needing to grab-and-go!
The actual sachets were a bit hit-and-miss for me, each powder either makes a paste which you can form into things like sausages or burgers, or they make a soup. I found that they were all either too sweet or too salty but they did look ok and were easy to make.
The first night I was feeling deflated; I have never dieted before so I was finding it quite tough. By the mid-way point, I still hadn’t really found anything I liked and as the box contained more than 1 sachet of each food I felt like I was already losing meals! I think my main problem is that I’m a confident, competent cook so I just found myself thinking I could just do it all myself.
At the start of this diet plan my stats were: weight 13st 4lbs, waist 35 inches, hips 38 inches.
At the end of the 2 weeks my stats were: weight 13st, waist 33 inches, hips the same.
I’m impressed with how much my stomach looks flatter and I’m really happy to have lost 4lbs!
All in all, the texture of the foods is quite strange and the appearances aren’t great but once you get over that it’s not too bad. It’s a good diet plan for someone at work with things to keep them busy and someone who doesn’t really cook at all.
The Exante Diet 2 week breakfast, lunch and dinner diet pack I was sent normally retails at £74.50 so it is a bit cheaper than other diet companies I have seen. However, if, like me, you still have to feed a family, the cost can mean you are spending a lot more than you usually would.
If you want a ‘quick fix’ in the short term, this is a great way to lose a few pounds before a holiday or a big event and it easily fits into a busy lifestyle. It’s just not for me!
Thanks so much for your Exante review Becca!
